Here is a sample of some of the concepts discussed in the Polyrhythms book discussed below. This is me playing along to a few basslines I wrote in Finale (which I will make available shortly). The bassline and the drum tracks were separate recordings, so the timing is a bit off in a few spots where I trouble lining the two up.
The examples are in this order:
1. Quarter note triplets in 4/4 (grouped in twos, threes, then fours)
2. Swing on all three beats of the eighth note triplet (third beat first, then second)
3. Displaced quarter note triplets (in groups of two)
